Oboro Labs Wins $50,000 Accelerating Innovation Award from Space Florida and Florida Venture Forum

We’re proud to announce that Oboro Labs has been awarded the $50,000 Accelerating Innovation Award at the 17th Annual Early Stage Venture Conference in Orlando, hosted by the Florida Venture Forum in partnership with Space Florida.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of 29 cutting-edge startups across the state, Oboro Labs was recognized for our groundbreaking work in cyclic polymer chemistry—a field poised to transform how the world thinks about materials science and performance polymers.

Unlike conventional linear plastics, cyclic polyolefins have no chain ends, enabling a new class of materials with superior conductivity, thermal stability, and environmental resilience. Our scalable production of these polymers opens doors to game-changing applications:

  • Printable wire for next-gen electronics
  • Safer, non-leaching water bottles
  • High-performance coatings for aerospace and marine industries
  • Long-lasting battery components and more

We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists who are pushing boundaries in AI, aerospace, defense, health tech, and beyond. A special shoutout to our co-awardee Rapta, Inc., as well as VeriChem, Zulu Pods, and the impressive collegiate teams from Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Atlantic University. Your work is inspiring.

This recognition fuels our mission to accelerate safer, cleaner, and more efficient materials for the world’s toughest challenges—and we’re just getting started.
